France is the country to watch for the rest of this decade. Will it get to grips with much needed structural reforms thus enabling it to become, inside the Euro, as Harvard Economist Kenneth Rogoff hopes: a second anchor of growth and stability. Or will continue its slide & decline. My money is on the latter as things it will have to get a lot worse before the majority in France realize something must be done. How long will Germanys patience with France continue? Also what happens if the UK pulls out of the EU, as now seems more likely, especially if France continues to become an increasingly dead weight on the European economy?
