Frances Winfred “Teddy” Robyn Cherry AKA Mrs. Leonard Cherry, the daughter of Arthur Robyn and niece of Louise Robyn, she was the inspiration for the first of a long list of books which comprise the Robyn system of musical training for children. At the age of 5 Teddy showed musical aptitude, but when scales and other exercises couldn’t command her attention and the resulting boredom, Aunt Louise sketched some little exercises based on a story element. This was the beginning of Technic Tales. In the first book the movement of fingers and hand is likened to an airplane in a nose dive.
