The Coca cola franchise is held by Americans and through South Africa thats how COBOCO Ltd was able to manufacture drinks and sponsor the tourney. If you recall the only soft drinks allowed at AT were only from COBOCO Ltd, fanta, sprite,etc.etc After KPF could not continue to host the tourney, it was moved to Diggers on request from KPF. Later, ZRU, in their ignorant wisdom offered any team with the highest bid to host the same. Nchanga took the challenge and went on to host once. As no other club could manage except for Diggers RC.,which by now had assimilated defunct KPF players, it became a DRC affair.Diggers sought and found sponsors in Mopani, MTN and several local companies. Now that KPF has ressurected it has claimed its tournament and am sure will scout for sponsors. This tournament was the first 15 -aside, before the league started and helped teams to gauge their players for the season and gave you an insight of which teams to watch out for! Diggers held what they called MTN tournament am sure its has nothing to do with the American Tournament. So in other words all these tournaments had a purpose and helped clubs financially. So on your local name for tourneys I think its up to the people who put in the bucks Cheers!!! U
