Francis Vance, 83, of Lancaster, formerly of Crawford County, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at a Lancaster hospital. He was born on March 8, 1930 in Crawford County to Fred and Mary (Wines) Vance. He served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950. He worked as a factory worker in a furniture factory. For the past few years he had been a resident Orchard Manor Home in Lancaster. He is survived by one brother: Fred (Pat) Vance of Tomah, and two sisters: Vida Parrish of South Beloit, Illinois, and Verda Parish of Beloit, Wisconsin; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Kenny Wines, Charles Vance, and James Vance, and one sister Emma Hanson. Funeral services will be at the Sime Funeral Home in Readstown, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 1 PM. Pastor Tom Tarver will officiate and burial will be in the North Clayton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until time of services. Online condolences may be sent to simefuneralforum.
