Frank Grillo portrayed Brock Rumlow in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.[35] In the film, Rumlow is a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who is a member of Captain Americas S.T.R.I.K.E. team.[36] Rumlow assists in Captain Americas mission to eliminate pirates who have taken over a S.H.I.E.L.D vessel and rescue the pirates hostages. Later on, when Captain America refuses to disclose information to S.H.I.E.L.D. Secretary Alexander Pierce, Rumlow and his team attack him in an elevator, but they are defeated. Captain America is branded a fugitive from S.H.I.E.L.D., and Rumlow and his team are tasked with capturing and killing Captain America and Black Widow, who discover that Pierce and Rumlows team are members of Hydra. When Captain America discloses that Hydra is working within S.H.I.E.L.D., Rumlow comes into conflict with many of Captain Americas allies, including Agent 13 and Sam Wilson. When a downed helicarrier crashes onto the Triskelion, he is heavily injured but is still alive. Rumlows outfit towards the end of the film is similar to his Crossbones outfit.
