Frankie is doing so well in her rehab programme. She has been so severely punished that she has developed a strategy of dont try, dont take a chance - the outcome wont be good, so give up, and dont explore - So we added a novel object (paddling pool) which she totally ignored...she was expecting the worst. Using positive reinforcement we have been teaching her to approach the pool, and now teaching her to paw the water...and the end goal is for her to stand in the pool...which will take time...but shes enjoying doing something we have set up where she can only win...she cant do wrong and this may be the first time in a very long time for her...and shes gaining confidence in herself and shes having a go and thoroughly enjoying the reward. Love her
