Frankincense and Emotional Balance - from Dr. Dave Steuer As you examine your EPS results, you may see recommendation for blends using frankincense. Frankincense has a long and important role in human history - its use is described in religious texts for holy reasons, as well as for healing purposes - and continues to be recognized by modern experts in essential oils for its benefits. In the Old Testament, Moses and his brother use the oil to put an end to a plague. In the New Testament, the three wise men offer it as anointment for the newborn son of royalty (Matthew 2:11). It is worth noting that there is also an abundant amount of academic study about the medical benefits of frankincense-based products in treating medical diseases like cancer and osteoarthritis. Over 80% of this oil is composed of monoterpenes, which reprogram cellular memory and so enhance long term healing. Frankincense, then, is both storied in history for its impact on wellness and a respected modern tool in essential oil blends.
