Hardnett Public Relation Specialist Maybe the reason is not obvious to you, dear friends, so let me splain. The AIDS walk is not about, for me, raising funds for support of those with HIV/AIDS. Its just not. Its about, for me, remembering all those friends and my partner, Alan, who have died of this disease. Its about recognizing how it is not a death sentence to be diagnosed these days in virtually every case anymore. Its about counting the years since I was diagnosed and remembering the doctors, researchers, and organizations that have worked for all these years towards treatments, vaccines, and cures. It frankly is an INSULT to all these things that for whatever weak ass reason the Arkansas AIDS Foundation has for NOT doing the walk there will be no walk. Ill still support the walk when and if it eventually happens, and I have my doubts that it will, because of all those reasons, but it will have lost a bit of its significance for me.
