Franks Fabulous Friday Fitness Tip Dont Resist Working with resistant bands are a great tool for any fitness workout. A complete workout targeting major muscle groups can be done with different strength bands or creating a variety of movements with the bands can do the same thing. Throw in a interval cardio workout between your resistant sets and voila, you have your workout routine. It you travel to areas without access to a gym , your gym will be your resistant bands. For example start off doing a minute of step ups off a chair, then take your bands, anchor them under your feet and knock off two sets of alternating front and side lateral movements. Pick it up a notch by running in place for 1 minute and now using the bands do two sets of consecutive front and side laterals with a different grip. I think you get the picture. Resistant bands create movement which benefits you muscular endurance. Remember these are not weight bearing activities so strength gains are not the goal. You need weight bearing activities to accomplish that. Make this part of your fitness plan and your movements will benefit. Give it a shot and see how it goes.
