Fred Farrell This letter was received today to tell us that he is moving to Frederick to Run for a Delegate spot.. From: Kenneth Timmerman To: T2012-donors1 Sent: Monday, January 27, 2014 6:00:40 PM Subject: 1 question survey from Ken Timmerman Dear friend, I want to thank you again for helping me two years ago in my effort to defeat Nancy Pelosi’s right-hand man in Congress, Rep. Chris Van Hollen. Like you, I was disappointed in the outcome. While I fell short in the Montgomery county portion of the new 8th Congressional District, I won Frederick County with close to 60% and Carroll County with 63%. I spent a huge amount of time in both Frederick and Carroll counties during the election, and found them far more welcoming to me both spiritually and politically than the close-in Washington, DC suburbs. So Christina and I have decided to relocate to Frederick County and to continue the fight for lower taxes, smaller and less intrusive government from here. Some of you have been urging me to run for a State Delegate’s seat in Legislative District 4, most of which I campaigned in during the last election. This district encompasses most of Frederick County and two precincts in Carroll County surrounding Mt. Airy. Will you support me in that effort? This is a heavily-Republican district, with three delegates. My understanding is that there will be an open seat, so the biggest effort will be to get through the primary. Consider this email as a survey. I am not asking for money, or for volunteers at this point. I want to measure your support. Just hit “reply” to this email to let me know your support. And of course, if you want to add a message, that’s even better. I ran for Congress in 2012 against an entrenched liberal Democrat to be part of change in Washington. I am considering a run for Delegate today to try to bring change in Annapolis. For the past eight years, Governor O’Malley and his cohorts have been wrecking our economy and driving businesses and high-earning families from our state. Their solution to Maryland’s problems has been to increase our dependence on federal handouts, rather than our own productivity. I believe we’ve got to grow the economy, not government; we’ve got to create new, high-paying jobs, not saddle wealth creators and young people with new taxes and Obama-care mandates. I’m fed up with Republicans who think that they can be better managers of a failed social welfare state. We don’t need better managers for their socialist system: we need to change the system. I believe we can bring businesses back to Maryland. The Democrats in Annapolis think they can do this through bribery - with special perks, tax-free zones, taxpayer-sponsored enterprise zones and the like. I think there’s a better way. How about creating a business and worker-friendly environment that benefits everyone in Maryland by: - lowering taxes across the board - rationalizing state regulations - expanding and valorizing vocational training Like other counties with large areas of farmland, Frederick County is getting particularly hard hit by new “environmentalist” state mandates and the rain tax. The Democrats have shown that their big government “solutions” are just about big government, not solving actual problems. Just as proceeds from the gas tax aren’t going to roads, so the proceeds from the rain tax won’t go to improving the water quality of the Bay. I believe we have better solutions, such as gasification plants that can turn municipal waste and chicken manure into energy, without harmful emissions. Much more on all of this to come. But for now, I need to know one thing: are you with me? Together, we can make change happen. Yours in freedom, Ken PS: Just hit “reply” to this email to show me your support. If you have time to send me a personal note, even better. PPS: Don’t forget to “like” my Facebook page if you haven’t already done so. Kenneth R.
