Freddie Roach: We are not taking Chris Algieri lightly at all. He shows a lot of heart coming off the canvas to win over Ruslan Provodnikov. Manny Pacquiao: Right now, I have an assistant coach who will handle the basketball team and after the fight I will focus on being the head coach of the team. Its good experience to play in a professional basketball team. I did not play long as I wanted to provide encouragement to my team. We won our first game and I was excited and honored to play. Bob Arum: I found out Manny was playing pro basketball before he played and I wasnt very happy. Its a rugged sport and a player can turn an ankle. An injury would have created havoc for the fight. Manny has assured Freddie and Freddie has assured me that it would be his last game until after the fight. If he wants to try out for the New York Knicks after the fight... its fine by me.
