Free In Store Tasting Tonight, Thur., July 17, 5 - 8 pm The Newport International Polo Series is in its 23rd season. Yes, here in Rhode Island teams from around the world gather each week from June through September in wildly entertaining matches. This weekend it is our team from Newport hosting a team from Italy. This Thursday we will feature wines from Italy and the United States we think match up well with a warm afternoon of food and friends at the polo grounds or the backyard. In position number 1 (the attacking offensive position in polo) we kick off with an Italian Vermentino new to the bin. In position number 2 (also offensive in polo) is an impressive unoaked chardonnay that is in its 3rd vintage at the bin. At the quarterback position (number 3 in polo) is heady Italian red made with a grape you probably have never of heard of. And up fourth (polo’s defensive position) is an uncanny Oregon Pinot Noir that is sure to produce many smiles this summer.
