Free Massage Session for People w/ Cancer or Cancer History in Fredericksburg, VA on Sunday January 15th, 2015 Lauren M. Cates is teaching a course at Mary Washington Hospital from January 13-15, 2015. All the students are already licensed massage therapists, receiving this advanced and specialized training. As part of the course, on the last day they hold a clinic in which they invite people who are in treatment or have been treated for cancer to come to have a massage. This gives the students an opportunity to put to practice the techniques they have just learned. And the volunteers get a relaxing, healthful massage. We consistently get glowing reviews from the volunteers. They find it an affirming and relaxing experience, and many also appreciate the opportunity to help the massage therapists on their paths toward working with oncology patients.
