Free Play from Jack Jones Boston Celtics +5½ The Boston - TopicsExpress

Free Play from Jack Jones Boston Celtics +5½ The Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans each have little to play for moving forward. When there is a matchup between two teams with little to play for, I usually look at the underdog first before anything. The key to backing the dog is to know that they have not quit. Its clear to me that Boston has not packed it in, and I look for it to show up tonight, too. It has been a money maker of late by going 5-3 ATS in its last eight games overall, which includes wins over Atlanta, Brooklyn and Detroit with two of those teams being playoff contenders. New Orleans has not quit, either, but it is clearly overvalued in this contest. Plus, it is coming off back-to-back painful home losses to Memphis and Portland, which could lead to a hangover effect here. Its easy to get up for playoff contenders like the Grizzlies and Blazers, but its not so easy to get up for a non-playoff contender like the Celtics. Boston will want some revenge after dropping each of its last four meetings with New Orleans. However, the past two have come by a combined 4 points with a 92-95 home loss this season, and an 86-87 road loss at the end of last year. If the Celtics do not win outright, theres still a very good chance this game is decided by 5 points or less. The Pelicans are 1-9 ATS in home games vs. teams who are called for 2-plus more fouls per game than their opponents over the last two seasons. Boston is 59-38 ATS in its last 97 road games off a game as a home underdog. The Celtics are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a losing record. The Pelicans are 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games playing on one days rest. Bet the Celtics Sunday. Monitored by the Sports Watch Monitor
