Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe will release the 2014 grade 12 results at the Technical Media Briefing on Tuesday, 06 January 2015 at the Central University of Technology (CUT), Hotel School, 08h00. Makgoe will give a breakdown of the provincial performance and also acknowledge top students who will also be awarded bursaries to further their studies at tertiary level. The Technical Media Briefing will be followed by the public acknowledgement of the top 100 learners who will be awarded bursaries at the annual ‘Well Done Function’. Schools that have obtained 100 percent pass rate will also be acknowledged for their sterling scholastic performance. Said Makgoe: “We wish to thank the grade 12 class of 2014 for upholding the principle of honesty and integrity during examinations.” “We thank teachers, principals, parents, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), departmental officials and our social partners for the support they gave to grade 12 learners throughout the year,” he said. Makgoe expressed confidence that the province will obtain the 90 percent pass rate and 40 percent bachelor passes. In 2014 more than 26 000 candidates wrote the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams at 329 centers across the province. The media is invited to attend.
