Free coupons available for safe leaf disposal in Clark County, Vancouver Autumn means wondrous colors, plus a substantial amount of yard work. Clark County and the City of Vancouver remind residents to prevent leaves from piling up on streets, where they can block stormwater drains, cause flooding and create driving hazards. To make the job easier, residents can take advantage of coupons for free leaf disposal at four locations: • City Bark, 2419 N.E. Andresen Road • H & H Wood Recyclers, 8401 N.E. 117th Ave. • McFarlane’s Bark, 8806 N.E. 117th Ave. • West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road Coupons valid through Dec. 20 can be downloaded from the county’s website, clark.wa.gov/environment, by clicking on “Free leaf disposal coupon” in the upper right corner. They also are available on the city’s website, cityofvancouver.us/solidwaste, along with a timely, helpful video about leaf disposal and street sweeping. Free disposal is offered only for leaves, not assorted yard debris. Leaves must be emptied from bags when brought to one of the four locations. Other options include applying leaves as winter mulch in landscaping or using the yard debris collection service available from Waste Connections of Washington. Call Clark County Public Works at (360) 397-2446 to report clogged stormwater drains or flooding outside of city limits. Call Vancouver Public Works at (360) 487-8177 to report problems inside the city.
