Free market (and pocket) friendly ways to cut energy consumption: 1) End all non-defensive wars 2) Abolish zoning restrictions so that cities can build up instead of out - meaning less urban sprawl and shorter transport/commutes 3) Deregulate the construction industry (i.e. the Development Application process and red and green tape) so that property development is easier, cheaper, faster, and more responsive to demand - meaning less urban sprawl, shorter commutes. 4) Cut taxes, tolls and licensing fees that make it just as expensive to drive cars as to ride motorbikes. This will encourage more motorbike use which means less petrol required. (See LDP policy) 5) End mining/agricultural/industrial subsidies that encourage over-production of goods where there is no demand for them, leading to waste. 6) Repeal the ban on motorised bicycles 7) Encourage sharing economy transport solutions such as Uber/Lyft, which reduce the demand for car manufacture Any more to be added?
