Free-scoring futsal on Wednesday of two weeks ago. Lucky white shorts still missing, so was in red once again. We fell behind 0-2 early on, but I managed to score two carbon-copy goals right-footed from the left (the first, a real pile-driver), to draw us level at 2-2. Andy then completed his hat-trick to put our opponents 3-2 ahead and a fourth goal soon followed to leave us 2-4 down. Won a free kick on the edge of the ‘D’, but left it for a teammate to take and drifted out to the left. Received the ball from the free kick and managed to complete my hat-trick from the same spot as I’d scored the first two goals—although this time I scuffed the shot somewhat. Soon we were level again at 4-all, only to slip back once more to 4-6 down. From then on, however, we managed to get a grip on the game and scored three times without reply to lead 7-6. Went in goal, and it was soon all-square again at 7-7. After this, however, we finally managed to assert ourselves and open up a lead of 10-7. Managed to make a couple of decent saves but couldn’t prevent our opponents notching a further goal to close to 10-8. However, a final goal by us in the dying minutes saw us close out a handy 11-8 victory, as I stayed at my post (between the posts) until the last post was sounded. Relaxing with the last of a bottle of Chateau Queyssard from Bordeaux.
