Free to a good home Just a brief explanation why you shouldnt just offer your home to any dog advertised for free. People will tell you anything just to get you to take him/her What happens if the dog turns out to be aggressive? What happens if the dog doesnt like your dog? Cat? What happens if the dog doesnt like your partner or kids and shows aggression? These are just a few of the things that would concern me. Rescues do assessments on dogs so can usually give you a background on likes/dislikes and behaviour. Yes we charge an adoption fee but that fee does NOT cover anywhere near the amount it costs to bring these dogs into rescue. Most people will offer their home to a free to good home dog for the simple reason that the dog is free! What if the dog has a medical condition they did not tell you about? What then? The majority of our calls and emails are to do with people that have taken on a free dog and cannot cope within a short period of getting the dog. The best thing you can do is alert rescues and if somebody does have a place for the dog let them deal with it. Not all free to good home dogs are bad but be very very careful getting into a situation that could have been avoided
