Freebies of KCR Govt.: పుక్యనకు వస్తున్నదంటే సచ్చినోడి లేచివస్తడు. There is no way to ensure only deserving get these hand outs by KCR Government, be they housing for SC, STs, 3-acre land, Kalyana Laxmi, Shaadi Mubarak or Asara schemes. As ours is a corrupt society and scammers will fill the rolls with fake recipients. KCR will be as unpopular with those that are denied the hand outs as he thinks he will be with those that are getting it. As a matter of fact he will be unpopular with even those that are getting these freebies next year as they claim it isnt adequate. Many of these are lose lose propositions/schemes and waste of public money. I would have encouraged family support at least by saying Govt will match family contribution to elderly up to Rs1000/per month. Ours is a patriarchal-matriarchal society of joint families and elderly are supposed to be taken care by the younger family members. Govt. support will make younger family members become irresponsible and may leave the elderly to Govt care. Even with participant supported system like Social security in USA is going broke with hand outs to so many freeloaders. Govt freebies is a bad precedent. Instead as Japanese do let Govt support Public systems of education, transportation, security, better sanitation systems, etc to be better funded and better managed. That will increase societys productivity and make the citizens competitive.
