Freedom doesn’t work unless everyone enjoys it equally. That - TopicsExpress

Freedom doesn’t work unless everyone enjoys it equally. That seems to be a lesson we’re failing to teach to young people. The Media Research Center did an undercover video experiment at George Mason University. Their rep pretended to be a petition gatherer, asking students to urge President Obama to read the emails and listen to the phone conversations of Fox News employees, their associates and their families. To their credit, some students mentioned the First Amendment. Others said they’d have to think about it, even though they “hated” Fox News – and I wonder how many of them have ever actually seen it. But here’s the truly depressing news: in the space of 45 minutes, 11 students signed the petition. Apparently, what they’ve been taught in college is that the politicized abuse of government power is okay, as long as it’s targeted at someone whose opinions you disagree with. I’d suggest you teach your kids about the Constitution while they’re still in elementary school, because the version of it their college professors are using must be very different from mine.
