Freedom is not Free........We would not be in a country where we can voice our opinions, either right or wrong, without the fear of violence or suppression. We could not assemble to peacefully protest what we feel is an injustice. We could not keep and bear arms, as an unalienable right. We could not practice the religion of our choice, without the fear of repercussions. We would have not right to fair or impartial trial by a jury of our peers, and the ability to question our accusers. Our founding fathers had the forsight to ensure that the freedoms that were attained on battlefields like Lexington, Concord, Bunker Hill, Camden, and Yorktown, were not cast away and lost forever. Those freedoms were earned at the point of a sword, by the burst of cannon fire, at the crack of the musket. Men and women fought, and died for the freedoms that today we disregard with indifference or neglect. What was true then, is still true today, without the American Soldier standing up for our freedoms, we would most assureadly be lost. Take the time today to remember the cost of Freedom. Thank a soldier, or a veteran for their service to our country. God Bless America, and Happy Veterans Day to all who have served.
