Freedom isnt free. When someone joins the service, they are - TopicsExpress

Freedom isnt free. When someone joins the service, they are essentially handing the country a blank check: use me as you will. Some have given a little, some have given much, some have given all. I am a veteran of military service. I come from a long line of veterans. My brother and my grown step-children are also veterans. In my service, I have been lucky enough to have always ended safe, whole, and comfortable. I am blessed that those I love are also still here, safe, some more comfortable than others. Sacrifices are always made with military service; by the person serving, and by those that love them. I am (publicly and vocally) not happy with the direction our country is going, but there is still a great degree of freedom. That freedom was earned and defended by those who served; those who handed the rest of us a blank check; by the families and loved ones of those who serve. Not just today, but especially today, thank a veteran. Thank the spouse of someone who is serving while they play the part of a single parent, all the time worrying about their spouse in harms way. Freedom isnt free. Thank you, all who have honored us with your service.
