Freihofer To Take Audition Workshop Back to Dallas Actor Factory Director & Founder Chris Freihofer will take his Audition for Film & Television 1-Day Intensive back to Dallas October 4. Workshop times are from 9 am - 5 pm. The workshop is a one-day concentration of his popular 6-week factory class, helping actors hone their skills in on-camera auditions. It has been presented in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri in recent months, and returns to Dallas for the second time this year. It is intense, enlightening, informative and encouraging, designed to uplift actors about the stressful audition environment, and provide to them key insights about their approach to future auditions. Using scripts from current television series and recent motion pictures awaiting release, Freihofer puts participants in front of the camera with prepared material and will offer helpful, constructive coaching. Participants are guaranteed to work two separate scenes during the day. The workshop is open to ages 16 and up, regardless of experience and is limited to only 10 participants. thus ensuring plenty of individual attention and coaching. Each participant will be filmed and evaluated, with all on-camera work and coaching loaded onto a secure website, allowing participants to review their class work and feedback from the privacy of their home. Freihofer will help actors with improv, character work, relaxation, interviewing, script management, memorization and more, all while making sure the actor presents their unique personality to every single audition. He will break down the casting process and give actors practical information about what casting directors, producers and directors are looking for in the audition. Most of all, he will empower actors with the information Every Actor Should Know, But Somehow Doesnt. I spend 30 minutes explaining the process of casting and putting the nuts and bolts into practical terms, he said. When that segment is over, jaws literally drop and actors no longer fear the audition process. They learn to attack them with confidence, practicality and fun. It happens every time, he said. Freihofer is a professional actor and casting director, making his full-time living on both sides of the camera. He recently guest-starred on the A&E series LONGMIRE, and is known as Dan Wachsberger in the final season of the acclaimed AMC series BREAKING BAD. He has numerous other television and film credits as an actor. As a Casting Director, he has cast dozens of motion pictures and hundreds of regional and national commercials. Recent Casting credits include the feature films RUDDERLESS, directed by William H Macy (in theaters October 17), AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY with Meryl Streep & Julia Roberts (nominated for two Academy Awards), TO THE WONDER, with Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams, LIGHT FROM THE DARKROOM and more. In 2011 Freihofer was voted into the Casting Society of America and remains the only CSA-member Casting Director in Oklahoma. This workshop is being presented by STAGE, in Dallas. For information and registration, contact 214.630.7722 or email them at [email protected]. This workshop is for educational purposes only. The presence of a Casting Director does not guarantee an audition.
