Fremont Officers got into the spirit of the holidays and surprised a family with new holiday decorations. On Sunday, December 21, 2014, officers responded to a request for extra patrol checks due to front yard holiday decorations being stolen. The caller stated that someone had stolen the familys Christmas decorations from the front of their house on the 4200 block of Bullard. Officer Dooley and her zone partners responded to the area. When they arrived, they learned that the decorations were very special to the children living at the house. In the spirit of Christmas, Officer Dooley led a team of officers to the store and surprised the family with replacement lawn decorations for the children later that evening. The family sent us the following message: The other night someone stole our Christmas blow-ups out of our yard. We called the police but the thieves were long gone:( we had gotten the characters for our 4 year old son and we were not looking forward to explaining to him that the Grinch had paid us a visit. Right as we were leaving the house we stumbled apon this! Brand new characters! Even more then what we had taken from us that night. We could not have asked for more and we couldnt be more thankful. It was really late and I didnt catch the officers name who came by to check on us that night but her and her partner filled our hearts with the true meaning of Christmas, we are never going to forget this! Our son told everyone at school about how the bad guys took our stuff but the police brought us all new ones from Santa:). Im pretty pretty sure he likes all these ones way more then the last ones haha! Hes been carrying snoopy around non stop and even had him sit and eat dinner with us lol! Also we anchored the blowups to the roof, so I dont think these ones will be going anywhere! We cant thank you enough for your kindness and compassion. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :) In the spirit of the holidays, we thought wed share this story and the photos with everyone!
