French Open Tennis - I could not see the match, as I was away for Cricket Umpiring in Norwalk, Connecticut. Historically, Mr. Nadal has lost the finals when I was not watching. Hence, asked my brother 2 times and he kept me updated with the scores during drinks break. Nadal wins his 9th French Open and now has 14 Grand Slams, ties with 2nd favorite of all time, Mr. Pete Sampras. My all time favorite was Mr. Ivan Lendl. Before I left, he lost the first set 6-3. He came back after that. Final Score: He beat Dr.Djokovic 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4. My hope is to see him win either Wimbledon or US Open and get closer to Dr. Federer record of 17 Grand Slams. Womens Finals - This match was a superb matches in a long time on Saturday. I had to drop my parents for wedding, so I could not see the whole match. Very entertaining match. Ms. Sharapova beats Ms. Halep 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 in 3 hours and 2 minutes. Congrats to Nadal and Sharapova. Wimbledon starts in 2 weeks. I cant wait. Horse Racing - California Chrome loses at Belmont Stakes on Saturday. He was a heavy favorite. He was tired down the stretch in 1.5 miles race. 120,000 people went to the race. The horse Tonalist wins the race. California Chrome owner was nasty when he got interviewed by NBC Sports. He said only horses which runs Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes should run Belmont Stakes. Its a big joke. Than how come he did not mention similar comments when he won Preakness. There were some new horses. But today, I guess he apologized. Now the drought of winning Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes goes to 36 years. The next big race will be on Oct 31, and November 1 where there will be Breeders Cup where the worlds best horses will be competing in Del Mar, California. NHL Hockey - Los Angeles Kings beats NY Rangers 3-0 and is up 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals. One more win and they will win the cup. The goal tender was Los Angeles Kings is Mr. Jonathan Quick and apparently he is from Hamden, Connecticut, and that makes me Happy. NY Rangers has to win 4 straight games. NBA - Mr. Lebron James comes back and scores 35 points and 10 rebounds and Miami Heat beat San Antonio Spurs 100-98. Game 3 is in Miami. UCONN Men and Women - They were in White House today and were honored by Mr. Obama for winning NCAA tournament. Men won their 4th this year. (1999, 2004, 2011, 2014). and the women has won 9 times. In 2004 and 2014 both Men and Women won the Championship.
