Fresh Chicken Available Today and Tomorrow So many people tell us that it is the best chicken they have every eaten, that we have come to believe them. The amazing flavor of fresh chicken is a new experience to most people in our area. We are among a very few farms that raise and process chicken. We have fresh chicken today, Tuesday, and tomorrow. We freeze the birds after that, because we want them to be at their peak quality whether fresh or frozen. We do not spray our chickens with any preservatives or chemicals. They are cleaned (dressed) and put into ice water baths. Then they are packaged and refrigerated. Our meat birds are hand raised first in brooders then on pasture, outside in a field. They live in a chicken tractor because we raise Cornish Crosses and they do not range as much as our layers, and so are sitting ducks, so to speak, to predators. The chicken tractor has their food (certified organic) and water in it. Every day it is moved.
