Fri . 18/10/2013 Regrettable Challenge 2 Kgs. 18:29-37; 19:10-15, 20-22 Sennacherib, king of Assyria was a boastful and proud kind. He taught he can use his military power to oppress the people of God. He challenged king Hezekiah of Israel, and in the course of it he blasphemed the God of Israel. Consequently, God showed him His sovereignty and greatness by sending just an angel to kill all his 180,000 soldiers he brought to war against Israel (2 Kgs. 19:35-37). King Herod in Acts 12:23, also attempted assuming God’s position and he was eaten up by worm. Nobody, therefore, has the power to challenge the sovereignty of God. What an unquestionable God! Point of Emphasis: God does according to His will in Heaven and on Earth. Prayer Point: In Your sovereign will, O God do not make me a target of Your wrath in Jesus’ name.
