(Lone Riot Magazine) Bringing back dirty, fuzz-driven rock and crunchy hooks, Brisbane three-piece Junior Danger are a band on a mission. Since forming in late 2013, the band have exploded onto the scene with a host of shows around south-east Queensland. Brooding, deep vocals cut through the tight groove of tom-heavy drums, distorted basslines and crunchy riffs, setting the platform for the energetic live performances which have seen the band showcase at venues across Brisbane, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast. Joining Junior Danger are three great local Brisbane bands, Youth Allowance, Radioutkast and Mazer. Forming in late November Youth Allowance is one of the newest Indie Rock bands from Brisbane. Youth Allowances collision of both 60s Blues riffs and Modern indie rock infused melodies have created a sound that is both captivating and unique. Mazer is a 5 piece indie-pop band hailing from Brisbane. From dancey upbeat jams to powerful emotive ballads, Mazer has it all. Formed in 2011 for a UQ Law Society Battle of the Bands the members of Mazer instantly found a shared spirit and groove. The genre-spanning Mazer are able to put on fantastic and fun show, with something that everyone will enjoy. Radioutkast is fronted by Rupert Topple and a Felisha Norr backed by the tight rhythm section of Doc Rock and Mike Day. The band have been hard at work polishing off a new set of original songs and recording their debut EP. It is a confronting account of life, love and mistakes hemmed together through Felishas 21st century Joplin soul and Ruperts rolling guitar.
