Friday 1:15 pm update Im finally at the hospital and with Kristina. I didnt post yesterday because we were trying to get ready to head up here today. The kids are on fall break so I brought the oldest two with me and let them see mommy for a little bit. Kristina has rested a lot the last couple of days, but I think shes making pretty good progress. They told us it would be slow and it definitely has been, but the last hour is the most active I have seen her since the stroke. The results for the CT scan came back yesterday and showed what we had hoped they wouldnt. She is going to require a permanent CSF diversion. So they have scheduled her to have a shunt put in next Tuesday. The shunt will be in the same place the EVD is in now and serve the same purpose except it will reroute the fluid into her abdomen where it can be absorbed and remade. While no surgery is ideal, this was what we had originally planned for when we came her anyway, were just happy that we got the other stuff repaired first and can get her on the road to recovery. Hopefully the shunt will be the last time shell need put under anesthesia. So we ask for you to keep the prayers coming. Your prayers and support are very important to us and for that we thank you.
