Friday 10:30 am Long night but glad its over! Marlo continues to amaze me with her strength and pain tolerance. She slept a few hours and was able to get a little comfortable so we both caught some much needed zzzzs. This morning its reality...as they have to pull back pain meds to get her up and moving. Unfortunately, her blood counts came back low this morning so we are getting started on a needed blood transfusion today which will keep her in the ICU most of the day. Hopefully to a floor tonight and up and about as soon as she is transfused. Her incision is so long but it looks great. But she has full movement everywhere and is fidgeting trying to get comfortable which shocks me considering the extent of the procedure. She got a few visitors last night which made her happy. She is cleared to eat so Im going to get her a breakfast taco which is always a good sign. Shes really in good spirits (except right as the pain meds start to wear off and then the F-bomb gets dropped occasionally and honestly who can blame her?) and wants me to tell everyone she is OK. She told me she looked awfully rachet last night and so we are getting her presentable today so she can receive visitors. More updates later. xox
