Friday, 17th January BE ACCOUNTABLE “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” (Hebrews 13:17) There is no leadership without accountability. In God’s system, we are all expected to render full account of how well we’ve managed the resources and responsibilities He’s committed to our trust. Our accountability isn’t only demanded when we’ll stand before God, but in the present task that He has assigned to us today. If you can be accountable today, then you surely will be on the Last day. Through His parables, Jesus Christ emphasized our need of serving like men who will give account to God, “Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.” (Matt. 18:23). In John 17, Jesus in His prayer openly gave full account to the Father concerning His earthly ministry. God has placed someone above you to whom you owe accountability and allegiance. In the Kingdom, there are no free-lance or independent workers; you are not your boss! If you are really led by the Spirit then you must be led by the Word, and the Word demands your transparent and absolute accountability. Learn to record and submit detailed reports of how you fulfilled a given task. Be financially accountable too. Success without accountability is futility. When you are accountable, you can’t just do anything or go anywhere, because you are purpose-driven. The problems of today’s society are traceable to men who are not accountable, men ruled by the spirit of the world. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Be a disciple and a disciple-maker, for that’s our calling in Christ. Prayer: Holy Father, I adore you with all my heart. Your Word has showed me the essence of accountability and I choose to become more accountable in the service you’ve called me to. I walk in the fear of God and wisdom of your Word today. Thank you Lord for my harvest of greater results and promotions in Jesus Name, Amen! Further Insight: Romans 12:1-3 Study Plan: Proverbs 25-26
