Friday 24th FIND GOD NOW “So David went up by the Ascent of the Mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered and went barefoot. And all the people who were with him covered their heads and went up, weeping as they went up. Now it happened when David had come to the top of the mountain,…he worshiped God there...” 2 Samuel 15:30-32 (NKJV) What would have happened to the Prodigal Son if he had not returned to his father? What would have happened to King David if he had not gone up to Mount Olives to seek God’s face when his son, Absalom toppled his government? What would have happened to Mordecai and the rest of the Jewish community in Babylon, if they had not sought God’s face in prayer and fasting; when Haman had already got the king’s legal backing to annihilate the entire Jewish race in the kingdom? What could have happened to them all? No matter the magnitude of the challenges or persecution you are confronted with, do not allow them to drift you away from God. Even if it appears that there is no way of escape for you, do not magnify them above God, or allow men to assume God’s role in your life. Even if all the forces of darkness besiege you? Do not deny God nor renounce your faith in Him. But “Thus you shall say to them: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.” Jeremiah 10:11 They may be powerful, but they are not God. They may be well connected, but they are not your Maker. They may be the rulers of the day, but their reign is not forever. They may be the strongest force man has ever known, but they are nothing compared to the LORD of hosts. Do not bow to them. Do not beg them. Do not enter into any covenant with them. They may have power over the body, but they do not have power over your soul. Remember what Christ did on the cross. Rather than deny God before His killers, He said: “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” (Luke 23:46) Perhaps, you have been manipulated and entrapped by them: cry to God to set you free. Seek counsel from any servant of God you know. You may need to go on a personal retreat. Stay in God’s presence until He tells you what next to do. Today’s Memory Verse: “If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents.” Job 22:23 (NKJV) PRAYER POINT: As I seek You Lord, reveal Your mercy unto me. You are my refuge and fortress; deliver me from those who seek my life. Strengthen my faith by the power of Your word. Rescue me from the trap of the enemy in Jesus’ name.
