Friday, August 22nd, 2014 is my darling daughter, Ellawyns, eleventh birthday. It has come to this.I cant show it on my fingers any more! I have to use a toe! she said to me today, balanced on one foot, toe in the air. She is becoming the young lady I knew she would. Yes, that is the day before our Renfest opens. I have a clear memory of the weekend she was born, wondering when it would be exactly the day before again. I checked an online calendar, and found it would be 11 years. I thought, Gee, that seems so long. I wonder what that will be like, and where we will be as a family? and so, here we are. No, time has not flown by to fast. She has not grown up quickly. It has been eleven wonderful years and each one a slow gift, unfolded carefully. However, the dear girl was in a hurry to get to a festival right away. Being born the day before is a bit like its Christmas Even and your folks are the Mr. & Mrs. Claus. Her mother was talking about booth prep while in labor with her! So, she will get out with Leahs family for a bit of celebration. However the bulk of our day will be spent in cleaning, painting and prep, and she will run the fest site with other Rennie kids. So, if you are part of our Village, here, and you see her about, please wish her a hardy Happy Birthday, Thank you to all of her family, friends, and peers, who have helped get her this far. What a fun ride its been. Happy Birthday to my beloved daughter.
