Friday, December 19, 2014 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life (Matthew 25:46, NLT). I’m not at all surprised by the results of a recent study that Pastor Mark shared saying, in America, “for every 1 person who believes they are going to Hell, there are 120 who believe they are going to Heaven.” Often, when I’m evangelizing or having casual conversations, I see this trend. People believe they are going to Heaven for several reasons. Some believe they are going because they are a “good person,” others because they are a self-proclaimed Christian, some because they believe a “loving, caring God would never send anyone to Hell,” and finally, those whose salvation is secure in Christ. But, like Pastor Mark pointed out this weekend, 1 in 120 is outrageous deception occurring throughout many people’s minds. The philosophy of universalism completely contradicts the teachings of Jesus. We see from His words that we will spend eternity in one of two places. Reincarnation also contradicts God’s truth for the Bible teaches we only die once; we are not reborn to die again and again. So, we see there needs to be an even more emphasized importance on sharing the Good News that is the Gospel. If the enemy has manipulated a person into believing their sins are accepted by God and they don’t need to repent, then they see no need to change their lifestyle. Thus they will die living in their sinful ways. We know that those who never accept the free gift of God’s grace will be eternally separated from God and Paradise. This means we want to take an active role in removing the blinders from these people’s eyes. We don’t want there to be any excuse for a person not being fully exposed to the Truth; giving everyone the opportunity of making the greatest decision of their lives. Let’s Pray: God, I thank You that the deception has no longer overtaken me. I’m aware of the two options where one will eternally reside and know that my salvation is secure in Christ. I’m so thankful for Your mercy and grace and knowing I’ve repented from my wrongdoings. Help me to share the Good News with others who may still be gripped by this deception. Give me the words to speak to expose the enemy’s lies, and give me the courage to even vocalize the truth. Lord, I pray You use me for Your Kingdom and for Your glory alone. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name alone. Amen. Read: Romans 10:17 (BR) From sermon 20141214
