Friday June 28th, lunch at Callihans with 20 co-workers and family, will end a 41.5 plus year job at Tennessee Gas Pipe Line, Ashland Inc, Ashland services Co, Ashland Pipe Line Company, Marathon - Ashland Petroleum, and finally Marathon Petroleum. I have seen a lot, done a lot, traveled on the job in every state east of the Miss except New Hampshire, a few states west of the Miss, Kansas, TX, Missouri, Colorado, TX, LA. Long career, lot of evolution of industrial electronics. I saved one mans life that was being electrocuted, survived a small electrical ARC Blast, I survived me and a co-worker in MS drilling thru a supposed empty 36 inch natural gas line that actually had 750 pounds of pressure on it, I could have died that day, never will forget it. I am looking forward to beginning a "new" life.
