Amador Foothill Winery is located on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevadas between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe. Amador Foothill Winery produces two classic vineyard-designated Zinfandels and is among the pioneers of Sangiovese and Aglianico in California. Todd from Sauce Distributors will be here to tell you about Amador Wines. Amador Foothills Sauvignon Blanc - 2012 - California - The vibrant peach, grapefruit and exotic spicy aromas lead to balanced flavors of citrus, pineapple and peach. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, the wine has pleasing mineral nuances, crisp acidity and a lingering finish. The 2012 Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc with 25% Semillon. Enjoy it with fresh oysters, Jamaican Jerked Chicken or pasta with a seasonal vegetables. * Amador Foothills Rosato of Sangiovese - 2013 - California -The new vintage has bright aromas and flavors of fresh, ripe strawberries, pink grapefruit and watermelon. Made with 100% Sangiovese grapes, it is wonderful as an aperitif or with spicy shrimp dishes, salmon, or sunsets on the deck. (This Rose is a personal favorite of mine. Yummy! Just saying). Amador Foothill Katies Cote - 2007 - California - The always popular Katies Cote is a blend of 48% Grenache and 42% Syrah. It shows lovely dark fruit aromas and rich black cherry flavors with herbal and mineral notes. Enjoy this wine with classic southern Rhone dishes such as duck confit or cassoulet. It also pairs nicely with braised lamb shanks and hearty stews. * Amador Foothills Esola Zinfandel - 2009 - California - Lena Esolas gnarly, 65 year old vines provided the intense and luscious fruit for this benchmark Zinfandel. The wine has layers of spicy, dark fruit aromas and vibrant cherry and plum flavors. With smooth, ripe tannins and firm acidity, this wine is bold yet has exceptional balance. * * These wines are 10% off the night of the tasting.
