Friday Note for Parents From Mrs. Welch August 23, 2013 Dear Parents/Guardians, We have completed our first full week of school and I am pleased to say I think it has gone very well! We were able to welcome our new PreK children this week, so now we are complete. Representatives from Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) will be here on Wednesday to give a presentation to our fourth through eighth grade students about safety and their organization. With the recent events in Golden City and our own experiences here at Triway, we feel this would be a very timely presentation. If you prefer your student not attend, please contact the office. Grandparent’s Day will be held on Friday, Sept. 6 beginning at 1:45 pm for our students in grades PK-4. Lifetouch will be here to take photos, we will have some punch and cookies, and grandparents can spend some time in class learning about all we do at school. Please watch for more notes about Grandparent’s Day. Thank you to everyone who participated in the PTO raffle of the smoker/grill. Please remember that all tickets and money must be returned by Aug. 30. Thank you PTO for your help and support. MAP test results are in and will be handed out to parents at the first Parent – Teacher conference dates, the week of Oct. 21st through the 24th. If there is an immediate need for MAP results, please contact your school counselors about setting an appointment to pick them up. Please be sure to return all back to school paper work as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your help. If you haven’t signed up for Remind 101 and you would like to get reminder texts from Mrs. Austin and myself, here is the information. Text @triwa to 417-737-7918. There will be no school on Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day. That’s the news for this week. I hope you have a good weekend. Sincerely, Tracey Welch, Principal
