Friday, November 15, 2013 Cancer moves fast and it is hard for us to keep ahead of it. William has had a very rough week. We have chased the pain and barely stayed up with it. Today he had a new central line placed and was admitted to the Children’s Hospital. As I looked at his labs, it appears the cancer is causing some harm to his liver. This is a new and sudden change. However to correct this problem, he will have to have chemo to shrink the cancer. He will start chemo tonight, but it will have to be changed slightly to account for the liver problems. The pain doctors are working on getting the proper doses of meds going to help him rest. Poor thing will grimace in his sleep and then eventually wake up screaming his back hurts. Sometimes he will fall back asleep or writhe in Danielle’s arms. We rush to help but can only do so much. Hopefully tonight he will have a steady drip of meds to ease the pain, and we will all get some rest and relief.
