Friday, October 10,2014: The decision President Ellen Johnson - TopicsExpress

Friday, October 10,2014: The decision President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf took on Wednesday to postpone the Special Senatorial Election slated for Tuesday, October 14, 2014 has backfired with Capitol Hill announcing that the President has no constitutional power to take such a decision.members of the House of Representatives yesterday took a decision to correct the President’s action. Following over four hours of heated debate, the House agreed to instruct the Chief Clerk to inform the Executive Mansion that no portion of the 1986 Constitution gives the Presidency any power to postpone elections. But it is our understanding the Legislature have some portion of President Sirleafs letter wanting more power in disguise hoping to complete the formality today in an extra- ordinary session. With the derision taken yesterday by Legislature means President Sirleaf has violated the Constitution again but Speaker Alex Tyler has also violated Article 90 (a) of Constitution as a share holder of a company licensed by the government of Liberia called International Consultant Capital’ (ICC) to carryout logging activities in Grand Gedeh County. Should we blame Madame Sirleaf for violating the Constitution with Speaker Alex Tyler in similar situation? On the second: How long will it take for the National Ebola Task Force to give detail expenditure report on the first $ 5m plus the additional $ 4m totaling the monies to $9m the Government has spent from Tax Payers excluding donation made in cash and kind locally? In fact Government is yet to inform the Liberian people about donations made both locally and internationally. We call on the Government to please make known to the Liberian people donations she has received. THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PROFESSIONAL BROADCASTING! Join us from 10am to 11:45am on FM 107.7
