PACRA is advertising for the following positions: DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (01) SALARY SCALE: P4 JOB PURPOSE To design and maintain the database in order to facilitate proper storage and easy retrieval of information. QUALIFICATIONS (a) FULL GRADE TWELVE (12) SCHOOL CERTIFICATE: (b) DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OR EQUIVALENT; (C) 2 YEARS IN DATA MANAGEMENT; (d) COMPUTER LITERATE: (C) AGED BETWEEN 25—35 YEARS. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/MAIN DUTIES Designs effectively the databases in order to facilitate the storage of data. Maintain effectively an up to database in order to ensure data integrity and accurate information Manages effectively the local area network and attends to network problems in order to facilitate communication and quick flow of information, Undertakes regular backups of the database in order to facilitate quick system recover Monitors regularly security violations in order to identity and seal loopholes. Undertakes regular preventative maintenance and repairs of computers and peripherals in order to ensure continuity of information processing. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/MAIN DUTIES Conduct accurate searches on new service mark applications in order to facilitate examination: Inspects regularly all successful service mark applications in ordee to ensure compliance with the registration procedures; Maintains accurately an upto-date register of service marks in order to provide information: Records accurately all details of the journal and statutes into the service mark register and folders in order to provide information for informed decisions. Prepares timely input for the indexing of service mark applications and registrations in order to facilitate easy retrieval for the users.
