Friday, October 31, 2014 “…brings forth out of his treasure things both old and new” –Matthew 12:35 Good Morning Heavenly Father, Family & Friends!! (*) Yesterday’s Discovered Treasure for Today: “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]” (Romans 12:2 Amplified Bible). (*) Today’s Application: Much of our entrapments today have resulted from an “allurement attitude”. Any one of our five senses (see, hear, smell, touch and taste) left undisciplined will have a tendency to allure us into an overindulgent addictive entrapment. Our inner struggles with these five senses will find us reaching out often to others who have less regard for our fulfilment and more for their own, leaving us alone with our delusion, disappointment and despair. Our actions and consequences actually stem from an attitude concerning our self-worth. If we carry with us a devaluation of our own self-esteem, an attitude of being less valued will follow. If, on the other hand, we carry with us an overcoming assurance of being personally valued and in no need for compromising conformity to the broader allurements of this world, we will see less of those temporary sensational weights that so easily beset us. A healthy contented attitude is vital to our success in every walk of life. This attitude becomes richly rewarded, especially internally, when Christ has been chosen as our Leader/Savior walking along beside us. Jesus Himself has said, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 New Living Translation). Its so much easier to follow the wider and more traveled road through life than the narrow one that leads to less complication, more contentment and a much more favored crowning ceremony at its end. Its the broader way of life that holds to the attitude “everybody’s doing it, why not me” and then finding no escape from the disappointment of having to settle for the lesser instead of the greater. However when allowing God to renew this low self-esteem with His Spirit that directs us to a more acceptable and perfect will of God, we can then believe God for greater and more complimentary accomplishments ahead! Here’s our golden Scriptural discovery for this direction of victory over the world: “Be imitators of God . . .” (Ephesians 5:1 N1V); “Be made new in the attitude of your minds . . .” (Ephesians 4:23 NIV); “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus . . .” (Philippians 2:5 N1V). With this overcoming spirit of victory found within, we will no longer plan nor expect to fail, no matter how many disappointments and setbacks we have or will experience. With this victorious attitude, we no longer visualize our failure but our success in Christ Jesus! Joshua of old was found telling the people of his day, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you” (Joshua 3:5 NLT]. 0;-)
