Friday Outlook: I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas....and is ready to enjoy the countdown to 2015!! Weather wise.....model data has been in a serious funk lately. These things happen from time to time, as we saw last winter as well. Just know....that even those with a PhD in atmospheric sciences are struggling right now...with data several days out that just doesnt verify. Even the short term model data has been weak. Hence the Winter Weather Advisories on Christmas Eve that were canceled a few short hours later when it became obvious that moisture was moving out faster than the cold air was moving in. It also didnt get as windy as model numbers indicated. Some places in the state have had NO MEASURABLE SNOW in December.....and there is nothing showing up that looks to change that....at least, before 2015 arrives. At any rate....there is nothing too serious to get worked up over through New Years....except for some cold that we havent seen in a few weeks. NO...not the BARBARIC cold that models spit out a week ago....but it will still be cold. (although seasonable) New Years Eve right now looks dry, but cold. As was witnessed in many locations this morning.....BLACK ICE can be a problem ANY MORNING from November through March. This is especially true on days when we have some precip and temps fall below freezing at night....or on days with fog. ALWAYS use CAUTION when driving!!!! Sat: Rainy...especially south of Indianapolis where rainfall may approach 1. Rain MAY MAY MAY end as a brief period of mix/light snow. Then again, it may not! :) Highs 46-51 Lows 30-35 Sunday: More clouds than sunshine....colder too! Highs 35-40 Lows 24-29 Monday: Mix of sunshine and clouds....still chilly! Highs 35-40 Lows 22-27 Tuesday: Cloudy....colder still.... Highs 27-33 Lows 14-19 New Years Eve: Sunshine peeking through the cloud deck....COLD! Highs 23-28 Lows 14-18 First Day of 2015: More of the same....cloudy...some rays of sunshine visible every now and then.... Highs 28-34 Lows 17-22 Updates as needed!
