Friday Reflection: Recently in an adress to Revolutianary youths, the combatant scholar Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi gave them the example of the famous companion of the Prophet(sa), Ammar Ibn Yaseer(rd), who even at the advance age of 90 was present at the battlefield of Siffin. No doubt Ammar Ibn Yaseer(rd) lived an illustrous and examplary life and a role model to all Muslims. His mother and father had the record of been the first and second Marytrs of Islam in that order. Ammar was forced to reject Islam due to extreme torture and threat of death, when he was released and he came to the Messenger of Allah(sa) crying unknown to him Allah had already communicated the incidence to His Messenger testifying to the truthfulness of the faith of Ammar. He remained a loyal and dedicated companion of the Prophet(sa) and after the death of the Prophet(sa) he never abandoned the side of Imam Ali(as). He made the supreme sacrifice and attained Marytrdom at Siffin fighting the deviation of Muaiwiya.
