Friday: Walked amongst the crowds rushing like schools of fish and herds of wildebeest at Dhoby Ghaut and I realized in my attempts to forge my identity of freedom and escape, I have joined the rat race. The escalators of Dhoby Ghaut looked like a cathedral for a minute as I ascend on yet another escalator. The posters sayeth : Athens shall burn. I continued rushing. Why am I rushing I asked ? Rush. So those questions wont follow. Train doors close. Rush. So the actualization that you are but a rat wont follow. Train doors open. Rush. Cause thats what you are now bred to do. Train doors close. Nietzsche said nicely enough. And when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes back into you. Tolkien opened a door as the train doors opened. Warm air gushes chasing the long coldness.
