Friday afternoon update: Well, the great news just keeps on coming. Remember yesterday when we were told he would have to be on tube feeds for a while? Today, Drew has done such an awesome job eating they are COMPLETELY getting rid of them for good!! He is very excited! He has hated his tube feeds!! He also has had some cognitive testing done that shows he scored within his age group and was able to respond quickly! His left arm was much weaker than his right when he first came (this is the side of the body that his injury occurred and had a ton of swelling in that arm and hand) and his strength is now even in both arms and hands! His short term memory is also improving! He could remember what time he had dinner last night, got a tube feeding, and went to bed! He could also remember that he needed to have his shower test done this morning and asked about it without anyone reminding him! This may not seem like a huge thing to you, but trust me, they are! All his therapists are very impressed with him and say they are seeing great improvements every 24 hours. I cant even describe to you how excited and blessed we all feel! God is healing Drew faster than we ever thought! There is still a long road ahead, but its definitely a bright one 😄
