Friday and Saturday night highlights…… Friday afternoon Police - TopicsExpress

Friday and Saturday night highlights…… Friday afternoon Police were called to the Union Hotel North Sydney in relation to a male who had gone berserk, assaulting and biting a number of patrons within the hotel and throwing a number of chairs at the pokie machines. Luckily the Police station is next door, so the guys were on the scene promptly. After a brief struggle the male was arrested and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for injuries sustained during the fight. The male has been charged with a number of assault and malicious damage offences and will appear at Hornsby court next month to answer this and other matters he has outstanding. Late Friday night, whilst grabbing a coffee at the BP service Station in Artarmon Police came across 3 persons in a vehicle getting petrol. Police became suspicious when none of the three appeared to want to drive the car after filling with fuel. Eventually one of the males drove the car and was stopped by Police. All three were well known for robbery and armed robbery matters. The driver failed a breath test and was charged with Low Range Drink driving. 2.00am Saturday morning Patrolling Police in the crows nest area came across a Holden commodore containing three males who were acting suspiciously. Police followed the car onto the Warringah freeway and stopped the vehicle. Whilst talking to the males two ran from police across the freeway into bush land. As one of the males was making good his escape Police saw one of the males was armed with a pistol. Despite an extensive search with the Dog unit and Police air wing, the males could not be located. The 3rd male was arrested after a struggle. A search of the car found a large amount of cash. Inquires are continuing. 2.30am Saturday morning, Police in an unmarked car attempted to stop a vehicle in Crows Nest for a random breath test. The driver, not believing it was a legitimate Police vehicle refused to stop and continued driving. It was only after a number of marked Police vehicles became involved in the low speed pursuit that the driver decided to stop. When initially approached by Police the driver gave the “finger” to the office and suggested they go away…….although the language was a little stronger than that……..The male was issued with an infringement for failing to stop. Friday and Saturday night has seen us deal with the usual drunks and groups of intoxicated kids running around the streets causing trouble. Did any one see the sentence for CASTRO, the guy in the states who kidnapped the three girls and held them for 10 years???? In a plea deal to avoid a trial, he received life (never to be released) plus a 1000 years………..is it just me or is 1000 years on top of life, never to be released a little excessive???? Don’t get me wrong he deserves everything he gets, but 1000 years……why???? Hope you all had a great weekend.
