Friday is the official launch of our new "Combat Evolved - Academy of Self Defence". Our open training nights run from 7pm-9pm, followed by Saturday morning for our themed scenario based self defence courses from 10am-1pm. Our first course begins with an introduction to self defence in the comprehensive 3 hour “Personal Protection - Level 1” course that will go over the core elements of solid self defence training including basic conflict resolution, avoidance, evasion, strikes and blocks, grabs and choke hold defences, all designed to build confidence and assertiveness. Prices range from an affordable £4 for training nights, to £10 for 3 hour courses, with concession rates available too. In the following weeks we will be running courses aimed at Nurses, Carers, and Community workers, etc who visit people’s homes; Lone Workers & Mobile Workers, Women’s courses, plus more advanced personal protection courses, including defending/protecting family and vulnerable people. Training nights and courses will be held at Cambusnethan Old & Morningside Parish Church hall, 171 Greenhead Road, Wishaw, ML2 8LG. We look forward to working with you to both help prevent, and raise awareness of potential violent crime to oneself and our loved ones; where the old community spirit, mutual respect and traditional values have broken down over time, in continually changing and challenging environments.
