Friday night after watching the film Thor: The Dark World which I give 4 stars; on the way home I stopped at Lalos Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Berwyn, IL. I’m optional to ordering either tacos or a burrito; and instead hunger cravings kicked in and I ordered a huge appetizer plate Botana Combinada: A super starter! A delicious appetizer combination consisting of nachos, quesadillas, tamales, flautas and a seafood empanada. Served with sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo; a steak taco; and frozen margarita. While eating near finishing the last two flautas on my appetizer plate I pulled a full size toothpick out of my mouth. One of the servers see’s this and bring the toothpick to the manager. I mentioned to him does he know how serious this is to my health and he immediately comped my entire bill of what would have been $27.40 + tax. I was disgusted from something that could have caused me to choke; this ruined my whole appetite; and could have caused major intestinal illnesses! Restaurants should be more careful when using toothpicks to prepare or deep fry their food! Lesson learned!
