Friday night we feature David G. Smith at 8pm, and the amazing Bill Parker at 9:20pm! A little change in the lineup, try to keep up! :) 8pm – David G Smith - David G Smith is an acoustic solo performer and songwriter. He has been compared to James Taylor and Kris Kristofferson, and has been touring the country for close to 20 years. David G Smith is a man and artist that always delivers...his live performances command your attention, his songs are heartfelt and honest. --Kate Benson/Director Of Entertainment/Redstone Room. In February 2014, David presented a world-wide release of his 4th recording project, ONE HOUSE, produced by Blue Miller (Bob Seger, India Arie). It features 10 issues oriented songs that range from cancer and Second Chances, to the illegal ivory trade, to an uplifting 911 rescue story. 9:20pm – Singer, storyteller, hopeless romantic, shameless purveyor of faded memories and broken dreams, Bill Parker sings not of what is or was, but of what might, could, or should have been. Bill says of himself and his music, Its a long way from the sock hops and street dances of Calumet City to the canals and wind-swept fields of Holland. That it took 45 years, the limitless kindness and support of both friends and strangers, and a couple of 13-hour flights to find an audience is neither here nor there. As my friend and musical mentor Fred Keith told me many years ago, for people like us its the only game in town. That was true then, and its still true today. No matter where I go or what I do, Ill always be a guy from Gold Coast who plays guitar, grateful for a chance to tell my stories and sing my songs, and hoping for better days, by and bye. Great songwriting and fine guitar work. “Parker’s guitar echoes the guitars of Jimmie Rodgers and Keith Richards; its accompaniment is as appropriate, as suitable, as that of the great blues singers. His lyrics are priceless, timeless.” - Stanley Booth, author of The True Adventures of The Rolling Stones. $8 admission at the door. Doors open at 7:15pm.
